Shingle Application

Starter: Use of sure-start starter shingles ¼" past drip edge

Bleeders: use of sure-start starter as bleeders along the rakes for strength and clean lines. This helps prevent water intrusion and loss of a clean roof line if shingles shrink.

Shingles

• Exposures: 5" standard, 5 5/8" metric
• Lap: Horizontal 5" minimum
• Nailing: 5 nails per shingle, storm nail rakes

Ridge Cap

• Factory cut accessory cap on all laminated applications
• Cut 3 in 1s on all three tab applications 

Ventilation

• 1 ½" Space is cut on each side of the ridge or proper ventilation (as opposed to cutting only one side)
• Baffled Ridge Vent
• Baffles prevent weather infiltration
• Installed with 3" aluminum nails hand nailed to prevent dimples 

Can Vents

• 3' of ice and water shield used to enlarge flange
